PolluCell: Using Waster Materials and Pollution to Generate Electricity
About the Idea
Sahil entered the competition because he loves science and he wanted to get to know others who shared similar interests. His battery cell invention will use carbon dioxide and other waste materials to help clear the atmosphere from greenhouse gas emissions and, additionally, be a low-cost alternative for electricity in developing countries.
Why did you enter the 3M Young Scientist Challenge?
I entered the Young Scientist Challenge because I believe that this competition is a great opportunity to express my passion for science and also get to know others with the same interest as me.
What is your favorite invention of the last 100 years, and why?
My favorite invention of the last 100 years is the computer because it greatly altered the way we perform everyday tasks and communicate. Because computers have an incredibly fast processing speed, most modern computers have been programmed to perform tasks such as access the Internet, write documents, and play interactive games. In addition, the computer has also allowed us to communicate much more quickly.
In 15 years I hope to be...
