Vesque Method - A Watering Method to Save Water

About the Idea

Globally, agriculture uses 70 percent of freshwater. My goal was to help reduce the amount of water that plants need, while ensuring that the plant is still healthy. I found a method of watering that can reduce the amount of water a plant needs by 50 percent by decreasing the time that pores are open.

Why did you enter the 3M Young Scientist Challenge?

I entered the Young Scientist Challege to help share my idea to world. Additionally, the 3M Young Scientist Challenge is an amazing community where young scientist can collaborate and communicate, a community that I want to be part of.

What is your favorite invention of the last 100 years, and why?

One of my favorite inventions of the last 100 years is the total artificial heart. It replaces the bottom chambers of the heart and has allowed people who are waiting for a heart transplant to be able to live longer. Replacing the heart was something that was consider impossible. This invention is also my favorite because it is a reminder that everything is possible with science.
