Meet the Mentor:

Cory Sauer

Application Engineering Specialist

3M Corporate Strategy

Cory is an Application Specialist in 3M's Corporate Strategy organization – identifying and developing applications for next-generation products powered by 3M technology. He supports a broad range of areas, spending most of his time on emerging Climate/Energy opportunities such as carbon capture and removal, mineral extraction, light and heat management, and sustainable polymers. Throughout his career, he has worked in product development and with manufacturing plants, but his passion is application development with customers: solving problems and helping build the industries of the future.

Away from work, you will likely find Cory (or won't find him) hiking somewhere off the grid. He's a member of the non-profit Star Prairie Land Preservation Trust, which establishes and maintains conservation easements on hundreds of acres of Wisconsin wilderness. He's a prairie enthusiast and spends much of his time trying to find rare or unique flora, wherever he finds himself on the globe. He lives in rural Wisconsin with a wife, daughter, dog, and entirely too many farm animals.
