Ann Gilman
Advanced Research Specialist
Corporate Research Process Laboratory
Ann Gilman is a chemical engineer with 15 years in Research and Development for precision coating and patterning processes in 3M's Corporate Research Process Laboratory. Ann applies her strong technical skills and creativity to drive new processes from bench top prototyping to production scale. Her proven leadership with cross-functional teams and experience in starting up new processes in manufacturing sites globally has led to the commercialization of eight new product families across 3M business units including Home Care and Abrasives. As a driven problem solver, Ann enjoys leveraging unique 3M materials and processes to create new to the world products, from Scotch-Brite® scrubbing products to Xtract™ clean sanding abrasives.
A driven problem solver, Ann is passionate about leveraging 3M materials and process capabilities to create innovative products, from Scotch-Brite™ scrubbing products to Xtract™ clean sanding abrasives. She has contributed to more than 90 internal invention submissions and is an inventor on 19 granted patents. Her achievements have been recognized with two 3M Corporate Circle of Technical Excellence Awards, as well as the 2024 Iowa State University College of Engineering Young Alumni Award.
Outside of work, Ann enjoys staying active with her husband and two children. Her interests include coaching and playing soccer, spending time on the water, reading, baking, and playing board and card games.
