Meet the Mentor:
Dr. Ani Upadhye
Advanced Research Specialist
CRD Glob CRPL SFPP
As an Advanced Research Specialist in the Corporate Research Process Laboratory, Ani collaborates with researchers across multiple groups in 3M to develop novel processing technologies to minimize the energy consumption and solvent use in 3M plants. His current research focuses on developing novel polymer processing and film extrusion technologies to create new 3M products.
When he is not in lab, Ani likes to keep up with the latest technology trends through TED talks, coding challenges, and science vlogs. Ani has always been a student at heart and is looking forward to connecting with young creative and curious minds. Ani has an been an active member of 3M Tech Forum and has served on various committees including chairing the catalysis chapter in 2016. He enjoys outdoor sports and plays cricket, tennis, and soccer in summers.
Ani holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and BS in Chemical Engineering from Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai, India. Recently, he also completed a graduate certification for data science in chemical industry from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA.
Motivated by his desire to minimize human impact on climate change, Ani develops new technologies to reduce the carbon footprint of 3M manufacturing processes.
