Dr. Andrea Washington
Chief Instructional Officer
In her current role of Chief Instructional Officer in Aiken County Public Schools, she provides leadership to all schools to strengthen curriculum and improve instructional practices and student and school performance through the use of data and the comprehensive assessment of student achievement. Dr. Washington works closely with principals and teachers with one goal: to improve outcomes for the students in her community.
Dr. Washington earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina, a Masters of Education with a concentration in Educational Administration from Converse College, and a Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of South Carolina. She has been married to her incredibly supportive husband, Kent, for more than 23 years. They are the proud parents of four children and the grandparents of a beautiful granddaughter.
Dr. Andrea "DeeDee" Washington is a veteran educator who has served for more than 27 years in multiple roles including curriculum facilitator, principal, personnel director, associate superintendent, and classroom teacher.
