Greetings Fellow Young Scientists, Friends and Followers,

We are nearing the home stretch. These past several weeks have been incredibly focused on turning our ideas into prototypes. This would not have been possible without the help of our mentors and their colleagues at 3M, all experts in their fields... and mine! I was fortunate to meet with some incredible scientists who helped me challenge, refine and focus my invention into a valuable solution for use in both industrial and commercial settings.

This week I wanted to make a video highlighting all of their help as well as take a few seconds to explain the optical part of my invention. In past blogs, I covered noise cancellation technology and its application in my invention. This week, I explain a bit about LiDAR, or light detection and ranging technology, which handles the "seeing" part of my innovation.

Well, it is time to get back to work on my invention. I am looking to meeting all of you at the competition next month. Happy experimenting!
